This is an easy and quick homemade soap recipe without a lot of trouble or mess at all! Feel free to use other ingredients.

Time Spent:
Total: less than 1 hour
10-20 minutes active time
5 minutes melting time
30 minutes – 1 hour cooling time

Money Spent + Supplies Needed:
Total for me: about $10.00 to $12.00 (approx. $1 per soap bar)
Glycerin Soap: $5.99 for 32oz. bag (Hobby Lobby)
Mold: $2.00 (Hobby Lobby)
Soap Scent: Free from using it in other projects but about $3.99 at Hobby Lobby (Use one that you think will go well with chocolate scent such as spices or cream scents)
Orange zest: about $3.00 at Hobby Lobby (if desired, comes with Lavender as well)

Also needed: glass or sturdy bowl to microwave in, Hershey’s cocoa, orange juice (if desired)

Step 1: Make sure you have all of the needed materials, most importantly the glycerin soap and molds!

Step 2: Put about 8-9 blocks of small glycerin soap in a glass bowl or measuring bowl. (This is approximately 12 to 16 ounces, or 10 to 12 ounces once melted)

Step 3: Microwave the soap in the bowl for 30 seconds. After 30 seconds, keep microwaving for approximately 10 second increments until the soap is fully melted. You may have to mix it in between or add more time later. This takes me almost 3 minutes exactly.

Step 4: Add in two teaspoons of Hershey’s cocoa powder or cocoa powder. If you desire more feel free to add more. This creates a clean chocolate smell that is not too heavy and very light.

Step 5: Mix the mixture. If your soap still has clumps at this stage, microwave it for another 30 seconds.

Step 6: Add in any other extra exfoliation that you want. I am using orange zest peel. If you want to keep the soap very chocolaty you may want to use something with less zing or nothing at all.

Step 7: Add in a cap full of orange juice if you desire. This is in no means required but did help give my soap a proper smell.

Step 8: Add in your store bought or natural soap scent flavor. The one I used is probably not the best for a chocolate soap because it is too flowery. It did however create a unique smell that wasn’t too bad at all. (But still, I wouldn't recommend it for chocolate!)

Step 9: Mix your soap mixture and then pour it into your soap molds!

Step 10: Let the molds cool for about an hour or so and then go check on them later! Pop them out on a surface so you won’t have to touch them and you are done! Look at that beautiful spotted appeal at the tops from the cocoa! This creates a very unique and fun Christmas or present idea!

Note: Using glycerin soap helped me a lot! I am glad I did not have to mess with dangerous and risky lye because glycerin already has it in there! This recipe should be safe, quick, and fun for the whole family to make together!
