This is definitely nothing unique. In fact as you read this you may be like, why didn’t I think of that! My Australian sister-in-law has been telling my husband and I to try to blow bubbles while it was freezing or below, and we did! This would be so fun to do with kids!

Here are my results!

The first time we tried this, it did not work so well. It may have been barely under freezing outside. Most of the bubbles popped straight away.

The next time I tried this it was 17°F outside. So maybe try it when it is quite a bit below freezing as it worked out better for me.

1. First, buy some bubbles or take some that you have around the house. We bought a $1 little tube just for trying this.

2. Make sure it’s cold out! (Below Freezing!)

3. Grab your camera if you want to take some pictures.

4. Go outside and blow some bubbles! Sounds easy? Well, you need to make sure you get a few to stick to a ledge or something solid. I tried to get a few to stick to our balcony rail but most of them blow away. Some people seem to have better luck by keeping the bubble you want to freeze on the actual bubble blow stick. You may also want to think about a shady place that is out of the suns direction.

5. Once you have a bubble sticking or staying, wait a few seconds.

6. Now it’s frozen! Quick, get a picture! The bubbles tend to start to crack and/or deflate seconds later.

Below are some pictures of a bubble I got to stick and the pictures immediately following afterwards. Enjoy!
